Aston Barclay secure West Yorkshire's auction site

AWS acting for Illuminating Investments have brokered a deal with Simon Rhodes of Rhodes CRE acting for Aston Barclay comprising a long term lease at Photon Park, a 16 acre development close to junction 31 of the M62 motorway at Normanton.

The development comprises a high quality state of the art office and industrial facility with extensive car storage and preparation areas.

Aston Barclay are to occupy the 53,657 sq ft (4,985 sq m) industrial unit, the 31,348 sq ft (2,912 sq m) high quality Grade A office accommodation and in addition they will occupy a further 10 acres of land to provide car storage and preparation areas.

Property Director of Illuminating Investments, David Aspland said “the use of the site for such a World leading facility is fantastic news for the area and the commitment and investment Aston Barclay have shown in delivering their vision has been outstanding”.

Working in collaboration with Wakefield Council’s Inward Investment Team, Aston Barclay will create up to 150 jobs at the facility and is aiming to sell more than 50,000 cars in the coming year.

Mike Denby, the Economic Development Service Manager at Wakefield Council, added “I am delighted that such a prime site has been occupied by a Company looking to work with us and recruit in the local area. Aston Barclay joins a prestigious list of recent World class Companies in the locality including Bosch, Haribo and HSBC. The area is thriving with a new generation of businesses”.
